GORILLA TREKKING

Trekking through the Rwandan jungle can be a strenuous experience, however the reward of coming face to face with a family of gorillas is a memory that will stay with you forever. After a night spent in a lodge, nestled in the scenic slopes of the Sabinyo Volcano, hike through thick bamboo forest, alpine moorland and dense jungle to the habitat of one of ten mountain gorilla families. Sit quietly and wait for these magnificent creatures to emerge from the wilderness – a truly breathtaking moment.

THE EXPERIENCE

The largest living primate, gorillas are spread across much of the equatorial African rainforest. Broadly speaking, the species is split into lowland gorillas and mountain gorillas.

The volcanic range which spans Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo is home to the endangered mountain gorilla.

Rwanda and Uganda are both countries that stand up from their difficult past and have a promising future in sight. People almost tend to forget how much sceneric beauty and wildlife they have to offer: going from tropical rainforest, to mountains, savanna, lakes and the origin of the Nile. The only place left on earth to explore the mountain gorillas ... A lot of beauty, culture and diversity packed in the heart of Africa.

The unique opportunity to see gorillas in their natural habitat is unforgettable, some even say life changing.
